We're going to CNN headquarters in NY, LA and Atlanta on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 at 12pm local time* to show that there are people willing to stand up for the public option (Why CNN? See Cenk's blog at the bottom of this post). Votes are coming up in the Senate and the House and the fate of healthcare reform hangs in the balance right now. If you want the public option, this is the time to fight! Here is the link to the Facebook Events where you can see who else is coming and coordinate in your area.

And here are the addresses of the three locations (*Note: 12pm local time is 12pm PST in LA and 12pm EST in ATL and NY):

He really should have given people a week or two. some people have to get plane tickets and arrange things for while they are gone. But there should be plenty of people withing driving distance though.

At this point, it wont make much difference if the "public option" is included or not.
Its not a real public option.
Only a small fraction of the public can even join.
At the same time, the bill mandates insurance.

Just because the republicans are against this bill, does NOT mean that this is a good bill.
Its a bad bill for democrats and repugs.

I wouldn't waste on second advocating for this sham of a bill.

Why not stand for real healthcare?

49. On C-Span's Washington Journal

this morning I watched Democratic strategist Tad Devine imply that there was a problem with Democrats insisting on the PUBLIC OPTION. He said we are a "big tent" party. This logic falls on its face. Every poll, even in some solid red states, show huge support for the public option. The Democratic Party actually loses support when we stray from the PUBLIC OPTION path.

Why would a Democratic strategist pretend otherwise? And this is 'pretending' because he knows full well what he says is not true. I hope no money I donate to Democratic causes goes to Tad Devine with an attitude like his.
